Thomas has a dual background in biology and business administration and obtained a MBA from the University of Potsdam. He started his career in fundamental research at the Max-Planck-Society. In early 2000 he joined the pharmaceutical industry where he held a position as a project leader for preclinical and clinical drug development projects. In 2011 Thomas joined Fraunhofer IZI as the Head of Business Development and Patent Management and from 2014-2016 he was founder-CEO of the Fraunhofer Project Center BEAM in Hamilton/Ontario/Canada.
