Pre-Conference Welcome Reception at BIO CITY LEIPZIG

FlyPharma Europe 2022’s Pre-Conference Welcome Reception at BIO CITY LEIPZIG took place on Monday 19 September 2022.

Taking place the evening before FlyPharma Europe opened its doors, this networking event welcomed FlyPharma delegates and local biopharma/biotech companies from BIO CITY and further afield. Attendees were greeted with an introduction to BIO CITY from the CEO, André Hofmann, followed by a short presentation from Dr Thomas Tradler, Head of Business Development and Patent Management, Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI, offering an insight into the organization’s activities, projects and initiatives in the area of cell and gene therapies, and why logistics questions play a very important role for them and their partners. Dr Merle Fuchs, Managing Director and Co-Founder of PRAMOMOLECULAR GmbH, also addressed the audience next and asked: “Is there a gap between biopharma and logistics?”

Leipzig has a long history of scientific research and innovation, and today its BioCity Campus, in the southeast of the city, offers a hub for stakeholders in the biotechnology, life sciences and healthcare industries. BIO CITY LEIPZIG is at the heart of the campus, providing a dedicated space for life science companies to work and conduct research, with a particular focus on supporting start-ups and generating partnership opportunities.

Supported by Saxony Trade & Invest, the event offered an opportunity for delegates to “break the ice” in an informal setting prior to the start of the main conference. Attendees were welcomed with some local beer and nibbles.

Evening Networking Event at Leipziger Messe

Following a day of presentations and panels from our expert speakers, delegates were able to debrief and relax with a drink in hand at our Evening Networking Event, free for FlyPharma Europe attendees.

Meeting potential new business partners and catching up with old acquaintances: as a regular feature of FlyPharma’s conferences, delegates had the opportunity to speak with every person in the room. It’s the perfect setting to connect with senior and executive pharma and cargo professionals – both from the speaker podium and the main audience.

The event was held in Leipziger Messe’s Atrium, just a short walk from FlyPharma Europe’s conference rooms in the Meeting Area Messehaus, shortly after the last conference session on Day 1.
