Francisco Rizzuto, Cargo Specialist Manager for the EU, UK, Turkey, Ukraine, Israel, Russia & CIS countries at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), will be speaking on Air Freight Temperature-Controlled Logistics for Pharma Products, and exploring how standards and certifications improve quality and reduce risk for air freight shipments of pharmaceuticals.
Francisco has 28 years of experience in international trade and air freight transportation, specializing in temperature-controlled shipments of pharmaceuticals. He is currently responsible for delivering IATA’s cargo agenda in the European region and supporting the air cargo industry’s adoption and implementation of IATA´s global certification program for the proper air transportation of pharmaceuticals.

Christian Schenk, Industry Lead Life Sciences at time:matters, will be asking How Can You Disaster-Proof Your Supply Chain and be Ready to Act in Even the Most Difficult and Unexpected Circumstances? in his presentation. Focusing on the importance of a robust supply chain for patient-centric advanced therapy manufacturing, Christian will highlight lessons learned after the pandemic and other crises impacting global transportation.
During his career in global key account management with time:matters, a daughter company of Lufthansa Cargo, he initiated, shaped and steered the commercial development of their Life Sciences division, including stem cell courier services, medical spare parts logistics and global supply chain services for patient-tailored products. Since 2021, his role as Industry Lead also includes the global roll-out of cell and gene therapy logistics.

Götz Ahmelmann, CEO of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, will open the conference on Day 1; he’ll welcome delegates to FlyPharma Europe, and to Leipzig, sharing the strength of biopharma logistics in the region and the reasons why Leipzig/Halle Airport is so well-placed, and well-equipped, to deal with this sensitive cargo.
An industry veteran with over 25 years of aviation experience, including senior management roles at Lufthansa, Air Berlin and Etihad Airways, Götz has been the CEO of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG since October 2018, overseeing the parent company in addition to serving as Managing Director of Dresden Airport and Leipzig/Halle Airport.

Mario Patyk, Head of Business Development Cargo/Logistics at Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ), will discuss how to meet and exceed CEIV Pharma handling requirements when handling time- and temperature-sensitive cargo, and will be sharing case studies to demonstrate recent success stories.
Mario has worked for LEJ since 2014, beginning his career in air freight at Frankfurt Airport and working for forwarders, GHA, GSA and BA World Cargo in Frankfurt (FRA) and London Heathrow over the years, in addition to holding an international commercial role at a UK information technology company.
